Through the ages there have been many wise and compassionate men and women.  They have passed on their knowledge and wisdom to others.  We, the Sisters of the Holy Family have been strongly influenced by the life of our foundress Saint Emilie and we believe that her words of wisdom cross the ages and have much to say to the people of our own time.

Read these words of Saint Emilie and consider how you might apply them in your life.

“Be gentle in your words.  Never use any words that could be hurtful to someone or any word that does not come from love.”

“Instead of believing that everything is going badly, rejoice in the good that is being done.”

“You are responsible for visiting the sick.  I don’t need to tell you to love them, I know you do that; but we can never do it enough.  Serve our dear sick people and visit them just as if you were visiting Our Lord in person.”
